Acosta, Diaz-Merino earn GSAC honors

VINELAND - GSAC Basketball Committee is proud to announce the D3 GSAC Basketball Players of the Week.

Womens - Leomary Diaz-Merino

Freshman guard Leomary Diaz-Merino put together an outstanding week for the Jersey Blues, compiling 77 points, 30 rebounds, 12 assists, and 10 steals across three victories. Brookdale defeated Bergen (61–48), Ocean (81–44), and Northampton (73–70) to complete a perfect 3–0 stretch.

Mens - Nicolas Acosta - Union

Acosta had a dynamic week averaging 30 points per game, 25 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocks in victories over Passaic and Brookdale.  Over the course of the week, the sophomore forward scored his 1,000 point, grabbed his 800th rebounds and notched is 150th block for his career.
