EPAC Names Players of the Week
Congratulations to Mia Scalese (Lackawanna College – Softball Batter of the Week) and Abby Marsh (Delaware Technical Community College – Softball Pitcher of the Week) as this week's EPAC Players of the Week.
Mia Scalese was a scorching 13-for-20 from the plate (.650 BA), posting 16 RBIs and nine runs scored to help the Falcons go unbeaten last week in eight games. Mia played in seven games, and only came to bat in six of those games, but made the most of her opportunities, consistently getting on base (.650 OBP) and delivering with four extra-base knocks, including two doubles and two triples. Against Raritan Valley CC on 4/23, she was a perfect 5-for-5 with a triple, a double, three singles, and eight RBIs, while scoring four runs in a dominant win for the Falcons. She also pitched that game and struck out a career-high 13 batters. Against Mercer the next day, Mia was nearly just as lethal, combining to go 6-for-7 with a double, three RBIs, and three runs scored to help Lackawanna pick up a pair of crucial victories over the Mustangs. Against Onondaga on Sunday, she collected four more RBIs in two games, hitting a triple in a 10-1 game one win, and knocking two more in in the 8-0 game two victory. Scalese's week pushed her season batting average up 60 points from .327 to .387.
